Doomsday was here on the 21st day in May 2011?
It will begin right around the midnight hour (Jerusalem standard time) and will happen in an instant according to some who are anticipating the end of the world to occur on May 21 of this year, 2011. Everything, all life as we know it, will cease to exist. Earthquakes, volcanoes, and other forms of apocalyptic destruction will destroy our world and all of mankind as well. Unless you are a true believer for which it is predicted that God will create new heaven and earth.
Pets must be saved and rescue services have sprung up with the answer of taking care of all those dogs and cats that will be left behind once we “sinners” have been somehow wiped off the planet. Of course there are always opportunists who gladly take our money, in this instance in exchange for saving us the grief of departing without our beloved pets. But who’s to say our pets don’t have a heaven of their own to go to? Or that, just perhaps, they may go with us to ours? That is to conclude that we do go to some heavenly abode after we leave this earth.
Religious zealots and guys like Harold Camping just love to scare the “bejesus” out of us all every so often and May 21 seemed to be the ideal date that is a result of some complicated Biblical readings. The apocalyptic enthusiasts that always seem to be on the lookout for some sign or symbol that the end of time is fast approaching are usually also unable to accept that they may be wrong and that their misplaced or mistaken faith regarding prophecy are in error. In other words, they’re just as confused about all this as the rest of us our, they’re just more vocal about it.
But guess what folks? May 21st 2011 came…. and it went and we are still here. Oops, the rapture did not happen after all. The same weather, both good and bad. The same volcanoes are still erupting on their own schedules. The earthquakes that do occur every now and then are still doing “their thing”, and so life goes on… thank God!
