Digital radio has taken a hit in its popularity figures in the latest quarter as per a research. According to Radio Joint Audience Research, this particular fact has come up in their latest statistics. The truth is that every year the number of digital radio listeners increase, however, according to the statistics of the survey the number of listeners did not go up as high as previous year’s statistics. It seems that digital radio is loosing out on its fan count this year due to some unknown reason although there has been addition of new technology to this field to arouse interest in users and listeners.

This year the increase in the number of digital radio listeners have gone up only to a comparison of 14% as compared to other years statistics of 20%. After the comparison the surveyors found out that this year, lesser number of new users have been turning their interest towards digital radio as compared to other previous statistics. Clearly this proves that the popularity about this digital media is has gone down as compared to previous year. New steps might be necessary to invoke the interest of the users so that like every other year the number of digital radio users increase.

However, hope remains in the mobile radio industry as more and more users are using their mobile phone to tune in to the radio. This popularity has reached a remarkable yearly increase of 7.1%. Now, it remains to be seen if this streak continues with time and that mobile radio catches up to the popularity of digital radio. It is that digital radio is facing a very small popularity crisis at this particular moment, but next quarter it might be an entirely different story after all for this always-increasing popular form of digital media.
