Real Time Updates may now be available on Gmail

Gmail slowly moves on the turf of social networking by making a plan of incorporating real time update of status in the Gmail account itself. Both Twitter and Facebook do not have to worry about anything at this point since this is only a small move to help the users with real time update so that the user do not have to continuously update the page every time they require to know if there has been a new mail. These updates will help the users to keep in touch with those in their address books.

According to a Wall Street journal Google is going to announce about this modification very soon. This modification is an experimental step towards the social networking world for Google and if this succeeds then they might consider some more and exciting new modifications to Gmail and may give serious competition to other social networking sites. The salient aspect of these particular updates is that they are going to be private and will be visible for the recipient only. This means that unlike Twitter where others are able to find out about the conversations or other things you say to your friends, here, you will be able to keep it a secret here at Gmail.

The main reason behind this updates is to allow users to share contents freely and at a faster rate between each other and help to swap links with various other sites that are there in collaboration with Google, for example, the YouTube. This will help you to decide that which content you wish to keep private and which ones public. The ease of sharing your contents on YouTube quickly through Gmail now may become reality and you will always be able to stay updated about what is new and happening. However, the goal still seems very far.
