The judge says Conrad Murray gets all 4 years!
Michael Pastor, a state of California Superior Court Judge as well as the trial judge throughout the Michael Jackson death trial today gave Dr. Conrad Murray the maximum sentence allowable. He was convicted by a jury on the 7th of November in the charge of involuntary manslaughter of singer Michael Jackson and has been in jail ever since that day. Jurors were unanimous and while they have remained surprisingly quiet about the proceedings since the trial was concluded, were definite in their decision that Dr. Murray must be punished for the actions he made involving dosing Michael Jackson with the drug propofol.
Judge Pastor states Dr. Murray performed a “horrific violation of trust”
When 58 year old Conrad Murray bought enormous amounts of the sedation drug propofol he did it in a secretive and conniving manner that made it even more damaging for the defense team that tried to justify the actions of their client, Dr. Conrad Murray. He was found to be guilty of performing medical madness and his actions were a “horrific violation of trust” as stated by judge Michael Pastor as he sentenced Murray.
Dr. Murray was deep in debt when hired on by Michael Jackson
Damn the Hippocratic law when there is $150,000 per month to be made simply for helping his patient get to sleep nightly. Murray was reportedly deep in debt and now has no way of paying any restitution to the children of Michael Jackson, Blanket, Prince, and Paris. He will however be expected to pay court costs such as an $800 fine, a $40 criminal conviction assessment, and the $30 court security fee.
Jackson family has shown their support throughout the proceedings
The family of Jackson, mother Katherine, siblings Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie, and LaToya were at the proceedings today and a statement was read by family representative Brian Panish. In the statement they said that while they were not seeking revenge, they do hope the judge will sentence Murray appropriately and as a lesson to other professionals that they cannot sell their services for a fee and to the highest bidder.
Mother of Conrad Murray also in attendance during today’s proceedings
Both Dr. Milta Rush who is the mother of Murray as well as at least one of his girl friends were there in a show of support for Dr. Murray, who may never be allowed to practice medicine again. He may one day be able to teach in his specific field which is cardiology, or even do research in the medical field, but he should never again be allowed to perform any medical treatment or procedures on anyone.
A documentary by Murray was the final blow
A recent documentary in which Dr. Conrad Murray blames Michael Jackson himself for allowing his death to happen was apparently a sore spot for Judge Pastor because he referred to it often when sentencing Murray today. The fact that Murray showed no remorse over what transpired due to his medical negligence showed he deserved the maximum sentence possible. However it is highly unlikely Conrad Murray will ever see a trip to San Quentin in his future because of the overcrowding situation in California prisons. More than likely he will receive house arrest for a year or so and then be released.
