Herman Cain – can he move from Memphis to the White House?
Extremely effective businessman and articulate entrepreneur Herman Cain is on his way up the political ladder with wins at caucuses and an ever growing rate of popularity in the political arena. He is running for President, make no doubt about that! Can he win? Well that’s anybody’s guess at this point but his competition on the republican side seems rather weak at this point. Cain keeps moving up the polls and Mitt Romney and Rick Perry seem to say things the voting public is not exactly pleased to hear. And while Herman Cain has not held a political office so far, he has plenty of experience running businesses and managing people.
Herman Cain proves his worth in the restaurant business world
Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1963, Cain worked his way up in the business world after he completed a master’s degree at Purdue. He went to work as a systems analyst for Coca-Cola in Atlanta, then moved on to Minneapolis to work for Pillsbury. In 1978 he became the director of business analysis in that companies foods and restaurant group. Cain took over the running of Burger King when he was only 36 and ultimately managed 400 Philadelphia area stores for Pillsbury. He brought the region’s fast food restaurant chain from the bottom of the heap profit wise to the top, making Burger King the most profitable. Cain seemed then as today, to have the golden touch when it comes to making businesses successful. Can he duplicate that success with the United States? Can he help get this country out of the recession it has been in for so long now? According to many he may well be the best bet for our next President if he can defeat Obama next year.
A solid and reliable family man who knows how to manage
Herman Cain and his wife of 43 years, Gloria have two children and three grand children and he has amassed wealth over the years of successfully running many businesses. He is estimated to be worth from nearly three million to perhaps six and a half million dollars as of 2011. He successfully fought a bout with cancer of the colon back in 2006. He is apparently a man who has “been there done that” in many aspects of his life and is well worth paying close attention to as the primaries near. So far Cain has won various straw polls and has been called extremely “likeable” which goes far with electoral potential. He is in support of non-federal subsidization and promotes efficiently economic stimulus. This is one area he is opposed to President Obama, because he is in favor of a simple spending bill rather than stimulus brought about from tax cuts. It is going to come down to the question of can Herman Cain win in 2012? Why not!
